Crust - 1 lb butter or margarine. 4 cups flour. 1 cup water. Mix - let stand overnight. Filling - 1 lb almond paste. 2 cups sugar. 3 eggs slighty beaten. 1 tsp lemon extract. Mix and let stand for an hour. Roll out dough in long narrow lengths. Put in filling. Seal edges with H2O. Make small slits on top about 2 inches apart and brush with unbeaten egg white. Bake 425 oven for 10-15 min and then 350 oven for 15 min until nicely browned. Makes 8 sticks.
